Designatore works in four materials more than any others. Leather, and a lot of it. Semi-precious stone: onyx, agate, marble and mother-of-pearl inlay. Wood and veneer: burl, fluted, carved and high-gloss lacquer. Brass and metal. Often three or four sit in one piece, made by hand.
Leather is not only for sofas here. We put it on beds, wardrobe doors, wall panels and boardroom chairs. Semi-precious stone is not only for floors. It goes on dining table tops, bar counters, foyer consoles, bathroom vanities and boardroom tables. That mix is how you know a piece is ours.

I am a designer. I have designed for over 30 years, and I started Designatore in 2018. I plan the rooms first. Then my team makes the furniture by hand in our own factory in India, in leather, stone, wood and brass. I check each piece and sign it before it leaves us. We do this for full homes and for offices, from the first room to the last. If it carries my name, it belongs in your space.

Do you furnish a whole home, or can I start with one room?
Either. Designatore furnishes a full home room by room, in one look. We also make one room, or one piece. One piece is enough to start. The same team designs it, builds it and delivers it, so the wood, the colour and the finish match from your foyer to your last bedroom.
Can you make one piece to match the furniture I already have?
Yes. Send a photo of what you own. We match the wood, the colour and the polish. Then we build the missing piece to the inch. It can be a bed, a console, a shoe cabinet, a mirror, or a pooja unit for that odd wall. Your old and new furniture will look like one set.
Do you make luxury office, reception and boardroom furniture?
Yes. Designatore makes reception desks, CEO and MD cabins, conference and boardroom tables, and office seating, all made to order in India. Ready-made office furniture rarely fits a CEO cabin, so we build to your exact room size. The leather, semi-precious stone, wood and brass we put in a luxury home go into your boardroom too.
Do you do interior design and architecture too, or only furniture?
All three: architecture, interior design and furniture, from one team. Walls, ceilings, panelling, staircases, flooring, lighting and every piece of furniture come from the same hand. Our founder is a designer, so the room and the furniture are drawn together. Our film of a luxury home in Kolkata shows one complete project, from bare structure to finished rooms.
Do you make the furniture yourself, or buy it from other factories?
We make it ourselves. Designatore is a manufacturer, not a trader. We do not buy finished furniture and sell it to you. Our own team does every step: design, CNC cutting, woodworking, veneering, finishing, upholstery, quality checks and packing. Our 80,000 sq ft factory in India holds all ten departments under one roof.

Yes. The factory is open 10 AM to 7 PM, Monday to Saturday, and Sundays are by appointment. You can walk the ten departments, see the wood, stone, leather and brass we hold, and watch a piece being built. Tell us when you would like to come and we will plan the day with you.
What materials and woods does Designatore use?
Designatore works in leather, and in a lot of it. We work in semi-precious stones: onyx, agate, marble and mother-of-pearl inlay. We work in many woods and veneers, in burl, fluted, carved and high-gloss lacquer finishes. We work in brass and metal. We also use velvet, suede, cane, glass and mirror. Often three or four of them sit in one piece, made by hand in our own factory in India.

How much does luxury custom furniture cost in India?
There is no price list. Every Designatore piece is made to order. The price follows the size. It follows the wood and the finish. It follows the material: leather, stone or brass. And it follows how much hand work goes into it. Send us a photo of your space. We send back a written quote, in rupees and dollars.
How do I pay, and how much do I pay to start?
You pay in steps. It starts with a small design fee. Then you pay in stages as your furniture is built. You never pay for the whole order upfront. We quote and take payment in rupees and dollars. Buyers in India and buyers abroad both see a clear price before we start.
How long does custom furniture take to make in India?
We give you the dates in writing before we start, and we do not put a number on this page. Everything is made to order, so your size, your wood, your finish and how much hand carving you want decide the time. A small piece and a full wardrobe wall are not the same job. Send us your space, and with the quote you get a timeline we can keep, plus the dates for each stage. One plan keeps every room together, so a whole home is finished as one, not delivered in pieces over a year.
Where is the furniture made, and do you ship outside India?
Designatore furniture is made by hand in India, and yes, we ship worldwide. We deliver across India and to buyers in other countries. For orders outside India we handle the export packing and papers, and we quote the freight separately, because it depends on your port and on local duty. We quote in rupees and dollars, so you see the price in the money you use.
Do you deliver and install the furniture?
In India, yes, and the delivery is free. We deliver to your door and put each piece in place. Built-in work is fitted on site by the same team that made it: wardrobes, wall panelling, ceilings and staircases. We do not pass that work to an outside company. For orders in other countries, tell us your city and we plan the delivery and the fitting with you.
Is delivery free?
Yes, and it stays free. Free delivery is how we sell. It is not an offer with an end date. There is no minimum order. We deliver to every pincode in India at no charge. The crate, the transit cover, the e-way bill and the GST are all paid by us. Your bill shows the price of the furniture and nothing else. Two exceptions, said upfront: the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep go by sea, so those are billed at what the shipping line charges us. And delivery outside India is quoted with your order, because it depends on your port.
Why choose Designatore instead of an imported luxury brand?
Because your room is not a standard size. Designatore builds each piece to your room, in your wood, your finish and your colour, in our own factory in India. An imported piece is made to a standard size in a factory far away. Here you talk to the maker. You approve the design before we cut. And you can order a matching piece later.
